Italian Gothic art flourished in the period from the mid-12th century until the 16th century when it was absorbed into the artistic traditions of the Renaissance. And although classical forms predominated over Gothic influences in Italian art, Wikipedia's list of 68 significant Gothic artists includes 52 Italians:
